Tarom flies to Riga as of March

Domestic airline Tarom said it will begin weekly service between Bucharest and Riga as of March 28, 2010 with four round-trip weekly flights at special fares starting from €124 (all fees included for round-trip bookings).
The airline will operate four round-trip flights per week from Bucharest to Riga on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with a Boeing 737 aircraft. The flight time is around 2 hours and 15 minutes.

“The flight schedule for Bucharest-Riga-Bucharest route has been specially designed for point-to-point traffic and connecting passengers, by offering them the possibility of travelling to other destinations operated by Tarom via Bucharest. The introduction of this route is part of our coverage expansion strategy to Eastern Europe, in order to round off the route map of Sky Team affiliates. Therefore, our objective is to turn Romania’s capital into a traffic hub, a connection point between east and west, which will yield a marked increase in traffic”, said Gabriela Bordea, marketing and sales director of Tarom.

In the winter season, the airline flies to 49 destinations across Europe, North Africa and Middle East.

Last year, Tarom added 11 new destinations to its route map: Amsterdam, Bari, Budapest, Belgrade, Dubrovnik (summer timetable), Lyon, Geneva, Salzburg (winter timetable), Strasbourg, Venice and Zurich.
