Midday Forex: EUR/RON down 0.38%
The National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 4.1142 lei against euro today, down 0.38% from yesterday, in line with other currencies in the region.
Yesterday, NBR set a reference rate of 4.1298 lei/euro.
“The leu gained against its European counterpart today, in lien with a generally upward trend in the region, in a pretty quiet trade. Investors are now looking at the European Union’s rescue package for Greece”, a dealer told NewsIn.
In the region, the euro fell against a basket of currencies. The Polish zloty increased from 4.0780 against euro to 4.0480, while the Hungarian forint from 271.70 to 270.40 units/euro, and hovered near this level afterwards.
For the US dollar, the central bank set a reference rate of 2.9817 lei/dollar, down 0.97% from yesterday.
