Renault boosts capacity at Moscow plant



French-based automaker, Renault, that holds Dacia brand, boosted the production capacity at its Moscow-based Avtoframos plant where both Logan and Sandero are produced, from 60,000 to 160,000 vehicles a year, the manufacturer said in a press release.
Renault’s investment in the production output increase stands at $150 million. The carmaker poured $230 million in the construction of its Moscow plant.

The Sandero produced at Avtoframos plant made its debut on the market on March 1.

Avtoframos plant was established in 1998, through a partnership with the municipality of Moscow. For the time being, the carmaker holds 94.1% interest, and the Russian government 5.9%.

Logan first came off the Avtoframos assembly line in 2005.
