Energy stocks lead BET-NG 2% higher



The indices at the Bucharest Stock Exchange finished with broad gains today, BET-NG posting 2.4% growth at closing, propped up by Transgaz and Transelectrica.
The liquidity at the Bucharest Stock Exchange increased to 25.32 million lei, (€6.17 million) up 16% from yesterday’s 21.83 million lei (€5.32 million).

BET index that gauges the performance of the ten most actively traded stocks at BSE finished up 1.80% to 5,455.64 points, while composite BET-C climbed 1.51% to 3,120.53 points.

BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies (BSE:SIF) shed 0.82% to 28,945.27 points, while Vienna’s ROTX closed 1.32% up to 10,810.59 points.

BET-XT index of the 25 most traded stocks gained 0.56% to 532.63 points, while BET-NG of the ten energy stocks finished up 2.39% to 741.34 points.

FIC Oltenia (BSE:SIF5) and FIC Moldova (BSE:SIF2) have been the most traded stocks today, while stock prices held steady to the benchmark quotes. SIF5 closed flat at 1.58 lei, and SIF2 at 1.38 lei.

In the banking sector BRD SocGen (BSE:BRD) rose 1.38% to 14.70 lei, and Banca Transilvania (BSE:TLV) increased by 0.93% to 2.16 lei.

In the energy sector, Transelectrica and Transgaz posted the biggest gains, pulling BET-NG index up 2%. Transelectrica (BSE:TEL) soared 7.56% to 18.50 lei, and Transgaz (BSE:TGN) closed 5.58% higher to 229.10 lei.
