An MBA abroad can boost your pay packet by 70%
Romanian professionals who choose to pursue an MBA abroad could expect to earn 70% more after graduation, said Alexandru Ghita, chairman of Educativa, the agency that organizes the Romanian International University Fair and Romanian International Master MBA Exhibition (RIMME), two fairs that took place last week in Bucharest, designed for persons interested in pursuing bachelor, master courses or MBA.
“I am convinced that an MBA can raise your salary by 50-70%. After graduating the MBA (e.n: Insead MBA - France/Singapore), recruiters were starting to view my CV and call me for job offers”, Ghita said.
The MBA the head of Educativa pursued at Insead cost him €90,000, of which €40,000 went to accommodation and other expenses.
Alina Buteica, project manager of Projects of Romanian Students Abroad League and graduate of European Master in Management, the result of a partnership between École de Management de Lyon (France), LMU Munich School of Management (Germany) and Aston Business School (UK), says companies in western Europe can raise business school graduates’ salaries depending on the prestige of the MBA and area of expertise.
“For example, in France, if you graduated from Grand Ecole (private education institutions), you have the chance to get a job in the largest multinational companies and earn a salary higher than a state university graduate having the same experience or professional training”, said Buteica.
Mirko Chiappe, recruitment director of Hult International Business School, ranked 94th by Financial Times in its Top Global Business Schools, says MBA graduates can make 20-30% more. “Three months after graduation, 93% of our students find a job”, he said.
The average starting salary of graduate MBA at Hult International Business School, is around $98,000 (€71,000), according to FT.
