Petrom leads BET index 2% higher



The ten most traded stocks at the Bucharest Stock Exchange grew 2% today, led by the upsurge of Petrom shares that propped up BET-NG index up 2.40%.
The liquidity at the Bucharest Stock Exchange increased slightly today, to 27.72 million lei (€6.77 million), from 26 million lei on Friday. Bond market grabbed the spotlight today, with a total trading value of 25.2 million lei.

BET index that gauges the performance of ten most actively traded stocks at BSE rose 1.98% to 5,725.93 points, while composite BET-C jumped 1.78% to 3,314.25 points.

BET-FI of the five financial investment companies gained 0.41% to 30,379.46 points, while Vienna’s ROTX increased by 1.57% to 11,405.94 points.

BET-XT index of the 25 most traded stocks rose 1.55% to 563.09 points, while BET-NG of ten energy stocks increased by 2.40% to 771.09 points.

However, the European stock markets were falling slightly at BSE’s closing, led by banking and mining stocks. At the London Stock Exchange, FTSE index of the leading 100 companies was shedding 0.36% to 5,605.38 points, while Germany’s DAX was dropping 0.20% to 5,933.21 points. France’s CAC40 was edging down 0.38% to 3,912.44 points.

Petrom (BSE: SNP) recorded the biggest trading value, namely 7.55 million lei, while stock prices skyrocketed 8.93% above benchmark value, to 0.3170 lei. In the energy sector, Transgaz (BSE:TGN) rose 0.30% to 230.70 lei/share while trading value totaled 2.32 million lei.
