FICs make late-day rise



Stocks at the Bucharest Stock Exchange fell slightly today, with the ROTX index closing down 1%, while financial investment companies picked up traction in late trading, and posted 0.21% gain.
The stock market’s total trading value fell 43% to 20.21 million lei (€4.94 million), from 35.44 million lei (€8.68 million) on Friday. However, fixed-instruments liquidity increased to 21.93 million lei (€5.26 million), after 2,100 state securities changed hands.

BET index that gauges the performance of ten most actively traded stocks shed 0.52% to 5,867.68 points, while composite BET-C dropped 0.14% to 3,389.82 points.

BET-FI gauge of the five financial investment companies (BSE:SIF) rose 0.21% to 31,500.71 points, while Vienna’s ROTX closed down 1.05% to 11,578.63 points.

BET-XT index of the 25 most traded stocks fell 0.29% to 877.43 points, while BET-NG of ten energy companies rose 0.45% to 788.39 points.

FIC Oltenia (BSE:SIF5) have been the most traded stocks with a total trading value of 3.95 million lei. SIF5 shares turned higher late Monday with 1.14% gain to 1.77 lei, after trading in the negative territory most of the day.

FIC Moldova (BSE:SIF2) recorded 2.43 million lei liquidity but stock quotes finished flat at 1.47 lei.

In the banking sector, BRD SocGen (BSE:BRD) closed 1.29% lower to 15.30 lei, and Banca Transilvania (BSE:TLV) dropped 2.55% to 2.29 lei.
