BET index jumps to one-year high



Stocks at the BSE closed Tuesday session with large surge, with the BET index racing 2% higher while the financial investment companies sector made the biggest gain of almost 2.4%, in line with other markets in the region.
The total trading value in Tuesday session rose 56% to 31.5 million lei (7.71 million), from 20.21 million lei yesterday. In the bond market, some B1303A state securities worth 4.2 million le changed hands today.

BET index that gauges the performance of ten most actively traded stocks jumped 1.97% to 5,983.36 points, while composite BET-C rose 1.86% to 3,452.75 points.

BET-FI gauge of five financial investment companies increased by 2.38% to 32,250.78 points, while Vienna’s ROTX gained 2% to 11,809 points.

BET-XT index of 25 most traded stocks closed up 2.02% to 589.10 points, while BET-NG of ten energy companies finished up 2.10% to 804.92 points.

European stocks were posting modest gains at BSE’s closing, led by food companies. At the London Stock Exchange, FTSE index of the leading 100 companies was moving 0.58% higher to 5,677.03 points, while Germany’s DAX was increasing by 0.31% to 6,006.12 points. France’s CAC40 was growing 0.66% to 3,953.97 points.

FIC Oltenia shares (BSE:SIF5) have been the most traded stocks today with a total trading value of 8.37 million lei, while stock prices rose 2.26% to 1.81 lei. FIC Moldova (BSE:SIF2) finished up 2.72% to 1.51 lei.

In the banking sector, Banca Transilvania jumped 2.18% to 2.34 lei, while BRD SocGen (BSE: BRD) rose 1.31% to 15.50 lei.
