BSE stocks finish up 2%



BET index at the Bucharest Stock Exchange posted a hefty 1.69% gain at closing, propped up by Banca Transilvania shares after bank officials unveiled plans to go public on Vienna Stock Exchange and raise 391.58 million lei in fresh new capital
The board of Banca Transilvania will propose to shareholder the listing to Vienna Stock Exchange and a 391.58 mn lei capital hike by compounding reserves, using premium issues and rights issue. The propositions will be discussed in the shareholders’ meeting scheduled for April 28.

Today’s trading value at the Bucharest Stock Exchange shrank 51% to 18.07 million lei (€4.45 million), from 37.08 million lei yesterday.

BET index that gauges the performance of ten most actively traded stocks at BSE jumped 1.96% to 5,998.66 points, while composite BET-C rose 1.83% to 3,467.70 points. BET-FI gauge of five financial investment companies gained 0.26% to 31,940.32 points, while Vienna’s ROTX increased by 1.78% to 11,850.10 points.

BET-XT index of the 25 most traded stocks climbed 1.39% to 588.73 points, while BET-NG gauge of ten energy stocks rose 1.12% to 802.77 points.

European stock markets were posting substantial gains at BSE’s closing. At the London Stock Exchange, FTSE index of the leading 100 companies was rising 0.76% to 5,721.23 points, while Germany’s DAX was moving 1.36% higher to 6,121.35 points. France’s CAC40 was edging up 0.98% to 3,988.43 points.

Banca Transilvania shares (BSE:TLV) have been the most traded stocks today, with a total trading value of 3.95 million lei, while stock prices soared 4.82% to 2.39 lei, BRD SocGen finished up 0.66% to 15.30 lei.

In the FIC sector (BSE:SIF), FIC Oltenia (BSE:SIF5) closed up 1.13% at 1.79 lei, and FIC Banat-Crisana (BSE:SIF1) finished flat at 1.61 lei.
