JP Morgan tops DealWatch league table
US-based investment bank JP Morgan was the largest M&A financial adviser in Romania, with deals worth $2.56 billion last year, according to DealWatch M&A league table.
By the number of deals, Lazard leads the ranking with five deals worth an aggregate $2.29 billion versus only 3 advised by JP Morgan.
In the legal category, Freshfields Bruckhause Deringer leads the chart with $2.52 billion and 2 transactions.
By the number of deals, Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii topped the M&A league table with 12 deals last year worth $649 million.
In the region, JP Morgan Chase & Co was the most active financial adviser, with $2.8 billion, while Raiffeisen Group took the lead in the number of transaction category: 9 worth $1.61 billion.
Clifford Chance has been the most active legal adviser in 2009 in the region ($2.68 billion, five deals), while Allen Overy provided legal assistance in most M&A deals in the region (13 deals worth $347 million).
