BMW reports 17% growth in first-quarter sales



BMW Group sales rose 17% in the first quarter this year, to 312 vehicles, with BMW accounting for 296 vehicles and Mini 16.
In the same period of 2009, BMW Group Romania sold 266 vehicles.

The German carmaker’s sales rose 31% in March only from February, to 117 vehicles. The best-selling models in the first quarter were the SUVs, namely the BMW X5 (95 units), BMW X6 (65 units), and BMW X3 (37 units).

“BMW brand is enjoying a rapid rise in Romania. Over the last period, we managed to retain our leading position in the premium segment. The latest released car was BMW 5 series, which is available in the Romanian market shortly after its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show”, BMW Group Romania said.

BMW 5 series sedan is priced at €35,100 (VAT not included). Deliveries are made for the eight of the seven engine versions, four petrol and four diesel. The cheapest version is 520 diesel that put out 184HP, for which deliveries are made since June.
