Midday Forex: Leu grows modestly against euro



The National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 4.1355 lei/euro, down 0.17% following the regional trend.
On Tuesday, the central bank set a reference rate of 4.1425 lei/euro, the highest since January 21.

The national currency grew steadily in the early trades, from 4.1450 units against euro to 4.1330, and at 13:05 banks were buying a euro for 4.1320 lei and selling it for 4.1370 lei.

In the region, the zloty and the forint had a strong start today, each growing by 0.36% and 0.27% respectively, but wiped out early gains at noon.

For the U.S. dollar, the National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 3.0306 lei/dollar, down 0.73% from yesterday.
