Midday Forex: Leu makes modest gain versus euro
The National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 4.1484 lei/euro today, down 0.27% from yesterday.
On Monday, the central bank posted a reference rate of 4.1597 lei/euro.
The leu rose gradually in the early trades today, from around 4.16 units/euro to near 4.1435 units/euro at around 13:20.
In the region, the Polish zloty had a milder appreciation trend versus euro, and traded between 3.8874 and 3.88975 units/euro, while the Hungarian forint wavered between 264.64 and 265.38 units/euro.
For the US dollar, the National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 3.0707 lei/dollar, down 0.82% from yesterday.
