Midday Forex: Leu gets boost from peers
The National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 4.1347 lei/euro, down 0.33% from yesterday, as other currencies in the region moved back into an upward trajectory versus their European counterpart.
On Tuesday, NBR set a reference rate of 4.1484 lei/euro.
The leu grew steadily in the morning against euro, from 4.1480 units/euro to 4.1290 units/euro, and at 13:00 banks were buying a euro for 4.1330 and selling it for 4.1370 lei.
For the US dollar, the central bank set a reference rate of 3.0777 lei/dollar, up 0.23% from yesterday.
