Boc calls for elimination of early repayment fee
The Government said it plans to eliminate the early repayment fee charged for both secured and unsecured loans, Prime Minister Emil Boc said earlier today.
“A project I strongly support, because its effects will be visible among hundreds of Romanians, consists in the joint proposition of Consumer Protection Authority (ANPC) and Competition Council of removing the early loan repayment fee. We plant to adopt this proposal by extending the elimination of the early repayment fee charged both for secured and unsecured loans”, said the Prime Minister Emil Boc.
The PM said the measure is aimed at intensifying competition among banks, and borrowers will benefit of lower interests and will not be “enslaved by a loan for 20 years”
