Midday Forex: Leu picks up against euro
The National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 4.1285 lei/euro today, down 0.30% from yesterday, in line with the FX markets in the region.
Thursday, the central bank set a reference rate of 4.1411 lei/euro.
The national currency grew steadily in the morning versus its European counterpart, from 4.14 down to 4.1230 lei/euro. The zloty and forint followed the same upward path, but the gains were more modest than leu’s.
For the U.S. dollar, the National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 3.0969 lei/dollar, down 0.17% from yesterday.
