The national currency climbs slightly



Romania's Central Bank (BNR) posted a reference level of 4.1276 lei per euro, 0.25 percent down from the previous session, as the other regional currencies also gained ground versus the euro.
The lender settled an exchange rate of 4.1380 lei per euro on Thursday.

The national currency advanced gradually at debut, from 4.1340 to 4.1270 per euro, and at 1:05 p.m. the euro was traded for 4.1290 lei, NewsIn states.

In the region, the Polish zloty opened session at 3.9172 and then rose to 3.8972 per euro, while the Hungarian forint slipped from 266 to 266.60 per euro and then inched to 266.10.

For the U.S. dollar, BNR's reference level reduced 0.76 percent from the previous session, to 3.0973 lei per dollar.

On the international market, the U.S. dollar showed a strong downtrend and lost from 1.3224 to 1.3334 versus the euro.

Overnight interests on the monetary market began to decrease again and got further from the key interest rate of 6.5 percent a year.

BNR posted an average interbank bid rate (ROBID) of 5.50 percent a year, down from 5.73 percent in the previous session, and an interbank offer rate for overnight deposits (ROBOR) of 6.00 percent, below the previous 6.23 percent.
