P&G Romania posts drop in 2009 profit



Romanian operations of the U.S-based consumer products giant Procter&Gamble recorded revenues of €596.5 million, up 10.9% from 4.1% decline in 2008 turnover.
Procter & Gamble Distribution reported net revenues of 1.18 billion lei (€279.9 million), pre-tax profit of 31 million lei (€7.32 million) and a net profit of 26.8 million lei (€6.33 million).

Procter&Gamble Marketing, the division responsible for the marketing operations of the company in Romania and seven other countries in the region, recorded net revenues of 118.3 million lei (€27.9 million), a gross profit of 12.5 million lei (€2.97 million) and a net profit of 10.4 million lei (€2.45 million).

Detergents SA, the detergents and bleaches division based in Timisoara, posted a turnover of 78.6 million lei (€18.5 million) and a net profit of 7.56 million lei (€1.78 million).

Procter & Gamble Materials Management, raw materials supplier for Detergents SA recorded a turnover of 179.6 million lei (€48.3 million) – down 50% from 2008 – and a net profit of 22 million lei (€5.2 million) from 3.27 million lei (€888,177) in 2008.

Procter & Gamble’s product portfolio in Romania include: Ariel, Tide, Bonux, Ariel Professional, Ace, Lenor, Mr. Proper, Fairy, Pantene Pro-V, Head & Shoulders, Safeguard, Herbal Essences, Wash&Go, Blend-a-med, Camay, Always, Alldays, Discreet, Naturella, Pampers, Olay, Gillette, Braun, Duracell and Oral-B.
