Midday Forex: Leu at fresh 4-month low



The National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 4.1874 lei/euro today, up 0.1% from yesterday, the highest rate in four months, after poor overnight trade.
On Thursday, the central bank set a reference rate of 4.1833 lei/euro. NBR hasn’t set such a high EUR/RON rate since January 5, 2010.

In the overnight trade, the leu was hovering near 4.22 lei/euro, but fell to 4.1770 in the morning. At 13:10, a euro was traded for 4.1850 lei.

In the region, the Polish zloty fell from 4.2480 to 4.1651 zloty/euro, while the Hungarian forint wavered between 280 and 280.90 forints/euro.

For the U.S dollar, NBR set a reference rate of 3.2851 lei/dollar, up 0.28% from 3.2759 lei/dollar yesterday.
