Min Fin to talk Nabucco on Turkey visit

The minister of economy and trade, Adriean Videanu said he would meet in Turkey at Istanbul with the Turkish minister of energy and natural resources Taner Yildiz to discuss the Nabucco gas pipeline and the future Romania-Turkey undersea cable.
“On Thursday, I will be on a visit to Istanbul where I will meet my Turkish counterpart to discuss the Nabucco gas pipeline, and the development of the subsea cable Constanta – Istanbul, considering that Transelectrica has completed the feasibility studies for this important project for Romania”, sadi Adriean Videanu.

The minister stressed the importance of drawing a roadmap of the subsea cable with the Turkish authorities.

The feasibility studies for the subsea cable Romania-Turkey cost €1,241,826, that were 75% covered by Transelectrica and 25% by Nuclearelectrica.

Transelectrica and Sweden-based Vattenfall Power Consultant AB signed in June 2009 the contract for conducting the feasibility studies, including the environmental studies and task book for the Romania-Turkey subsea power transmission cable (HVDC Link).

The cable will link Romania to Turkey and will enable power transmission between Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and Turkey.
