Decathlon opens store in Era Shopping Park



Sports apparel retailer Decathlon has leased 2.2 hectares plot of land in Era Shopping Park retail park where it will open a new store by the end of the year, the developer of the park, Omilos Group said.
Era Shopping Park will have a 4,100 sqm Decathlon Sports store and a 2,000 sqm sports area. The retailer acquired 2.2 hectares land plot in ERA Shopping Park where it will open a new store by the end of the year.

The tenant mix at the retail park includes Carrefour (15,400 sqm), Praktiker (9,350 sqm), Altex (3,565 sqm) and Mobexpert (8,500 sqm). Apart from these anchor tenants, the park also boasts the 62-stores Era Galleries with 11,000sqm surface.

“We’re in advanced talks with several major retailers. The opening of the shopping center is planned for summer next year”, said Graham Kilbane, general manager of Omilos Group.

Decathlon was founded Michel Leclercq who opened the debut store in 1976, near Lille, France.

The retailer made its first move into the Romanian market in 2009, when it opened its first store in Militari Shopping Center.
