Q1 FDI inflows drop to 754 million
Foreign direct investments in the three-month period ending March 31 totaled €754 million, down by nearly 50% from €1.47 billion in the same period of last year, according to data from the National Bank of Romania.
Equity stakes, including the reinvested profit totaled €650 million, from €993 million in the same period of last year.
The total value of intra-group loans also dropped markedly from the first quarter 2009, to €104 million from €482 million.
Foreign direct investments covered approximately 50% of current account deficit.
