Carrefour opens its second supermarket in Bucharest



Carrefour, the country’s biggest retailer, said it would open tomorrow its second supermarket in Bucharest, Carrefour Market Chilia Veche, located on Drumul Taberei Boulevard, at No. 124.
The new store will have a gross area of 430 sqm and will market around 6,200 products, 1,000 of which under its own label.

Carrefour Market will be opened from Mondays to Saturdays from 8:00 to 22:00 and on Sundays from 8:00 to 20:00. The store will have 50 checkouts and 50 employees.

A month ago, Carrefour opened its first supermarket in Bucharest, in Militari area, which represented a total investment of €0.5 million.

Carrefour group is Europe’s biggest retailer and world’s second with several types of stores: hypermarkets, supermarkets, hard discount and neighborhood convenience stores.

In Romania, the retailer has 22 hypermarkets and 26 supermarkets.
