Midday Forex: Leu gets modest lift against dollar
The National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 4.1998 lei/euro, similar to yesterday’s rate, and 3.3942 lei/U.S. dollar, down 1.48% from Wednesday.
On Wednesday, the central bank set a reference rate of 4.1997 lei/euro and of 3.4451 lei/dollar.
In the monetary market, the short-term interests remain relatively low, below the monetary policy rate of 6.25%.
