Tarom joins worlds second largest airline alliance

Tarom carrier will join the SkyTeam airline alliance this month, and will adopt Flying Blue, Air France and KLM frequent flyer program.
SkyTeam is world’s second largest airline alliance after Star Alliance, and has 11 members: Air France, KLM, Alitalia, Aeroflot, Czech Airlines, Delta Airlines, Aeromexico, China Southern, Korean Air, Air Europa and Kenya Airways.

By adopting the frequent flyer program, Tarom passengers will have access to a broader flight network, with over 850 destinations, in 160 countries.

The carrier said it expects to carry 21% more passengers this year, to 2.14 million, and a load factor of over 60%.

With a turnover of €191.4 million in 2009, Tarom is the country’s national carrier that will fly to 54 destinations in summer this year, to countries in Europe, North Africa and Middle East.
