Craiova Energy Complex to pay 96 million for two FGD plants



State-run energy producer Craiova Energy Complex said it would pay €96.4 million for the construction of two flue-gas desulfurization plants at the No. 7 and 8 power units in Isalnita.
The energy company will organize on August 25 an open tender to appoint a company to take on the design, manufacturing and installation responsibilities for the two plants.

Craiova Energy Complex will bear the costs of this investment from its own resources, a credit facility and structural funds.

Companies interested in the tender will have to pay a participation guarantee of €1 million, a best execution guarantee equivalent to 10% of contract value and guarantee for reaching performance. The average turnover median for the past three years of bidders has to be of at least €190 million.

Craiova Energy Complex is an electricity producer and has an installed capacity of 930 MW. The company has three branches and a Repair Unit Craiova. CE Rovinari posted a net profit o 336,598 lei last year and total revenues of 1.168 bln lei. The combined output of the three power units cover a third of Romania’s electricity production.
