Competition Council clears Wella Romania Interbrands deal

The Competition Council has given the green light to the acquisition of Wella Romania by Interbrands Marketing & Distributions.
“The Competition Council analyzed the possible antitrust issues raised by the economic concentration under the provisions of Competition Law and of the regulations on the authorization of economic concentrations and found that the competitive effects of the deal are unlikely to substantially lessen the competition in the market”, the institution said.

Interbrands announced in March the takeover of the distribution of Wella professional products line in Romania, held by Procter&Gamble, and hence the acquisition of Wella Romania professional haircare division.

Interbrands entered Romanian market in 1993. Among the company’s customers are Cadbury, Vodafone, Nestle and Henkel.
