GED buys Romania’s largest printing company

Spain-based private equity firm GED acquired 92% of Infopress, the largest provider of printing services in Romania, for an estimated €12 million, the legal adviser in the deal, Biris Goran announced.

The deal is expected to complete in the second quarter 2010 further to clearance from the Competition Council.

Biris Goran's legal team was composed of Christian Mîndru (of counsel) and Catalin Oroviceanu (senior

associate).

“I am happy we helped the client in this deal of crucial importance to Infopress [Group SA], considering the tight market conditions and the group’s expansion plans in the region”, said Christian Mîndru.

GED was represented by Madalina Paisa (partner) assisted by Serban Suchea (senior associate) of the law firm Vilau & Mitel.

Founded in 1990 as the publisher of Odorheiu Secuiesc newspaper, Infopress has grown steadily as the largest printing company in Romania, focusing on large volume publications and the magazine market. It is currently the largest printing company in South Eastern Europe and among the leaders in Eastern Europe.

For the time being, Infopress is the largest printing company in Southeast Europe and among the leaders in Eastern Europe.

GED is an independent Private Equity group operating in the Iberian Peninsula and Southeast Europe. GED is positioned in the middle market, managing funds in excess of €350million through four different private equity vehicles and operates in two different private equity sectors: private equity and private equity real estate.

The Spanish PE also holds in Romania the travel agency Happy Tour, telecom store chain Fonomat, medical equipment provider Diamedix, Eurobusiness (in cogeneration) and security services company Rosegur Holding.
