Romanian leu slides for the fourth successive session

The reference exchange rate established today by Romania's Central Bank (BNR) indicates a 0.08 percent slip of the leu over Europe's single currency to 4.2975, while the other emerging currencies were advancing against the euro, NewsIn informs.

The national currency idled at 4.29 versus the euro in the first part of the day.

BNR established an exchange rate of 4.2942 lei per euro yesterday, up from 4.2729 in the previous session.

The reference exchange rate reached several historical peaks during the first month of the year. The lowest level recorded by the national currency was established on January 22 at 4.3127 versus the euro.
