Yesterday, the central bank posted a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2158 lei per euro.
The exchange rate swayed between 4.21 and 4.2150 lei per euro this morning and at 1:50 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.21 lei and selling it for 4.2150 lei.
In the region, the Polish zloty fell from 4.1150 to 4.1330 versus the euro and then recovered to 4.1240, while the Hungarian forint inched from 269.60 to 268.60 per euro.
For the U.S. dollar NBR’s exchange rate slipped 0.18 percent and reached 2.9505 lei per dollar, from 2.9557 in the previous session.
Leu firms against euro on lack of trades in emerging markets
The benchmark exchange rate established by the National Bank of Romania lowered 0.1 percent to 4.2116 lei per euro, on a market dominated by apathy, where the national currency inched slightly, as investors avoided the emerging markets at the end of the week, NewsIn informs.
