Adevarul Holding CEO steps down, Peter Imre takes over

After four years as chief executive officer of the media group Adevarul Holding, Razvan Corneteanu signed off today. He will be succeeded by Peter Imre, former corporate affairs director of the tobacco giant Philip Morris.
Adevarul Holding confirmed the news appeared this morning on Reportervirtual.ro and Paginademedia.ro in a press release.

“Yesterday (e.n March 31), Mr. Razvan Corneteanu announced his decision to pursue other opportunities outside Adevarul Holding, for personal reasons. Razvan Corneteanu played a crucial role in the development of Adevarul Holding since 2006, when he took on the leadership role in the group”, the media company said in the release.

“Razvan Corneteanu has the gratitude and appreciation of the board, and we wish him every success in the future and all the best for him and his family”, said Dinu Patriciu, chairman of Adevarul group.

Razvan Corneteanu will be succeeded by Peter Imre, with immediate effect. The new management of the company will be structured as follows: Dinu Patriciu – chairman, Peter Imre – chief executive officer, and Andrei Stefan – deputy chief executive.

“I am planning to develop a company that is already stable and successful, and I’ll do my utmost possible to strengthen the business and make it more profitable. To be honest, I wasn’t considering going back into the corporate world, but Dinu Patriciu’s offer was as tempting as it was challenging. So I decided to try something new that I think I’ll have a lot of things to learn from”, Peter Imre (photo) told Wall-Street.

The new chief executive of Adevarul Holding added that the partnership with Dinu Patriciu in the European media group, East European Media, still stands.

“Adevarul Holding was built on democratic values, of independent and objective reporting and without political bias. And this is how the group’s activity will continue”, said Dinu Patriciu.
