Romanian drug manufacturer Antibiotice Iasi (BSE:ATB) said its net profit rose 2.5% in the first quarter this year to 10.83 million lei, while revenues stood 3.3% above year-ago level to 59.56 million lei.
In the Jan-Mar period 2009, the drug company reported a net profit of 10.56 million lei, and revenues of 57.64 million lei.
Year-to-date, Antibiotice’s loss totaled 124,782 million lei, up 15.9% from 107.571 million lei in the first quarter 2009.
Antibiotice Iasi’s narrowed its headcount by 49 to 1,436 in the first quarter 2010.
