Financial companies surge 1.92% in today's session, on record low liquidity

Indexes of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) closed session with mild swings, while financial stocks added roughly 1.92 percent, as deals reached a new record low this year and compressed 67 percent to 3.11 million lei (731,500 euros) from 9.50 million lei in the previous session, NewsIn informs.

The BET index that gauges the performance of ten best companies on the market, slid 0.07 percent to 2,281.88 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares minus financial companies lowered 0.08 percent to 1,497.36.

The BET-FI index of the five financial companies gained 1.92 percent to 9,827.32 and the ROTX index for trading blue chips in Vienna added 0.89 percent to 4,467.14.

The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid stocks upped 0.51 percent to 212.15 while the BET-NG index mirroring the ten power companies lost 0.40 percent to 333.33.

Largest Romanian company Petrom (SNP) was the most liquid stock today, generating deals of 376,992 lei, and dipped 2.42 percent to 0.1610 lei.

Financial company SIF Moldova (SIF2) appreciated 1.30 percent to 0.39 lei, SIF Banat-Crisana (SIF1) climbed 2.60 percent to 0.4740 lei, SIF Transilvania (SIF3) added 1.68 percent to 0.2420 lei and SIF Oltenia (SIF5) hiked 2.96 percent to 0.418 lei.

Lender Banca Transilvania (TLV) eased 0.63 percent to 0.7950 lei while second Romanian lender by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) nudged up 0.89 percent to 5.65 lei.

Oil refiner Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC) gained 1.63 percent to 0.025 lei and fertilizer maker Azomures (AZO) increased 3.81 percent to 0.218 lei.

Electronics retailer Flamingo International (FLA) jumped 14.72 percent to 0.0265 lei.
