The number of new car registrations in the first quarter this year reduced by 11.8 percent over the similar period last year while registrations for commodities transportation cars fell by 41.6 percent, the Statistics Institute (INS) said in a release, NewsIn informs.
The most significant drop in new registrations of vehicles for passengers’ transportation was of 77 percent in coaches, buses, minivans. Also, 49.6 percent less motorcycles were registered in the first three months and 9.3 percent less cars.
Over the last quarter of 2008 registrations of vehicles for passengers slipped by 44 percent while those of vehicles for merchandise transportation dropped 38.9 percent, INS showed.
