Changes at the helm of Grey Romania

Laura Tampa, managing director of Grey Romania has decided to step down from his position at the helm of the communication agency. Dan Medrea has been appointed as Grey’s Area CEO for Romania, Ukraine and Bulgaria, the company said in a press release.

“Laura has been a key-element in achieving our creativity and efficiency goals that brought Grey Romania the first Golden Watch award, the first shortlist and bronze at Cannes Lion, the first Golden Effie, and many other accolades. We are grateful for all her hard work in the company and we wish her good luck”, said Carolyn Carter, Grey Group President and CEO EMEA.

Dan P. Medrea (photo), age 35, now serving as CEO Grey Ukraine and Bulgaria will oversee the agency’s operations in Romania.

Over the past 10 years, Medrea has built and led Grey’s business across the Balkans’ region. He previously worked as expert for the Council of Europe and graduated the Medical School “Carol Davila” in Bucharest.

“Dan is a champion of international clients and has excelled in every major aspect of our activity. During his leadership, Grey Ukraine recorded an unprecedented growth and Grey became the number one agency”, said Carolyn Carter, Grey Group President and CEO EMEA.

Petro Leone, CEO Grey Group CEE, said the promotion of Dan Medrea reflected the acknowledgment of the statute and potential of Romania as primary growth engine of the group.

“We are opening a new chapter in the region and I am determined to radically change the way we play”, Medrea added.
