NBR posted an exchange rate of 4.2236 lei per euro in the previous session.
The euro was traded for 4.22 lei at rising bell and then slipped to 4.2130. At 1:05 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2141 lei and selling it for 4.2231 lei.
In the region, the zloty started to lose ground versus the euro after significant rise in the past days and fell from 4.0680 to 4.0950, while the forint cheapened from 266.15 to 267.4 per euro.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate lowered 0.28 percent to 2.9454 lei per dollar, from yesterday's 2.9538.
Leu hits one-week high versus euro
The benchmark exchange rate of the National Bank of Romania dropped 0.14 percent to 4.2178 lei per euro, the minimum level of the week, as increases of regional currencies influenced the national currency, although the local market remains apathetic, NewsIn informs.
