The central bank posted a reference rate of 4.2373lei/euro yesterday. The national currency was trading near 4.25 versus euro in the morning, above yesterday’s level, but gained momentum afterwards, climbing to 4.2340/euro and held steady for the remainder of the day.
In the region, the Polish zloty increased from 4.1640 versus euro to 4.1340 while the Hungarian forint edged up from 275.20 to 272.20 versus euro, but turned weak afterwards.
Versus the US dollar, NBR has set a mid-point reference rate of 2.8737 lei/dollar, 0.16% above yesterday’s 2.8691.
Midday Forex: Leu gets modest boost from regional peers
National Bank of Romania set a mid-point reference rate of 4.2347lei/euro, 0.06% lower than yesterday, as the leu got a modest lift versus euro in the interbank trade from its regional peers.
