Lluansi will oversee Saint-Gobain’s operations across Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

The glassmaker appointed Constantin Hariton to head the company’s operations in Romania. Saint-Gobain has invested about 231 million euros in Romania since it entered the local glass market, in the nine companies it holds in the country, 17 million euros more than its 2007 total sales.

Last year, the glassmaker posted sales of 214 million euros, 17% more than a year earlier.

The highest share of Saint-Gobain’s investment in Romania exceeded 100 million euros in a glass manufacturing facility in Calarasi that was completed in 2007.

The company invested 26.6 million euros in Romania last year alone.

Saint-Gobain has a headcount of 1,100 in Romania. The company is present in Romania through nine companies: Saint-Gobain Glass, Saint-Gobain Isover, Rigips Romania, Saint-Gobain Weber Romania (mortars, tile adhesives, wall-facing products, additives, white cement), Saint-Gobain Conducte , Saint-Gobain Abrasives, Saint-Gobain Brodrene Dahl, Ventistal Marine and MTI Impex (wood industry).
