Romania's national currency, the leu, hovered near the six and a half months low at midsesson. The National Bank of Romania posted a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2937 lei per euro, 0.01 percent down from the previous session, after the leu showed a mild uptrend in the early trades, NewsIn informs.
NBR yesterday set an exchange rate of 4.2940 lei per euro.
The leu went up from 4.30 to 4.2930 versus the euro in the morning trades and at 1:10 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2920 lei and selling it for 4.2970 lei.
In the region, the zloty soared from 4.2050 to 4.1920 over the euro and then slipped to 4.2080, while the forint advanced from 267.05 to 266.75 per euro and then fell to 267.39.
For the U.S. dollar, the central bank's exchange rate decreased 0.05 percent to 2.8798 lei per dollar, from 2.8812 in the previous session.
