Insurance company Astra Asigurari estimates a net profit of more than 9 million lei this year, three-fold up compared to last year, and 23 percent higher business to 800 million lei, according to the company's head, Radu Mustatea.
It booked gross premiums written (GPW) of 649.9 million lei last year and a net profit of 3 million lei.
The company had more than 700,000 RCA policies closed after the first ten months, according to Mustatea.
In the first nine months, Astra Asigurari reported a net profit of 4.18 million lei, 218 percent up from the same period in 2008, while the GPW hiked 22 percent year-on-year.
