The leu traded near 4.09 against euro in the morning on a generally quiet market, as other currencies in the region traded in a tight range today.
The leu grew in the morning from 4.0936 to 4.0832 against euro, but weakened afterwards to 4.0968 units/euro.
The National Bank of Romania set a reference rate of 4.0939 lei/euro, 0.04% higher than Friday’s rate of 4.0923 lei/euro.
In the region, the Polish zloty moved sideways today, and traded between 3.8664 and 3.8792 units/euro, while the Hungarian forint grew from 266.13 to 265.27 forints/euro, but dropped afterwards to 266.63 units/euro.
For the US dollar, the central bank set a reference rate of 3.0007, down 0.37% from Friday’s rate of 3.0119 lei/dollar.
