Indicators don’t cover vehicles and motorcycles sales and are adjusted for working days and seasonal effects. In gross series, the retail trade shrank 5.7% year-on-year.
In March, the retail trade fell by seasonally-adjusted 4.8% YoY.
In the second month of 2010, food, drinks and tobacco sales fell 7.3%, non-food dropped 6.6%, while automotive fuel in specialized stores dropped 1.7%.
On a monthly basis, April retail trade turnover declined 1.7% weighed down by 4.4% drop in non-food, 2.9% decrease in food, drinks and tobacco. Automotive fuel in specialized stores fell 0.2%.
In gross series, the retail trade turnover (excepting vehicles and motorcycles sales) shrank 0.9% month-on-month.
Retail trade turnover (except for vehicle and motorcycle sales) for the January-April period, series adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality fell by 7.5% year-on-year, on 8.9% lower non-food sales, 8.0% drop in food, drinks and tobacco, and 4.6% decline in automotive fuel in specialized stores.
In gross series, retail trade turnover fell 7%.
April retail trade turnover drops 5.2%
Retail trade turnover dropped 5.2% from the same period of 2009, weighed down by food and non-food sales decline, data from the National Institute of Statistics show.
