Every year in Romania, approximately 6,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer. The incidence rate increases by 10% annually, with one in ten women developing malignant tumors. Cancer is the third leading cause of death after car crashes and heart disease.
With the opening of the breast cancer diagnosis and treatment center, the total investment of Gynecoland since 1998 reaches 1.5 million euros. “We opened the clinic in 1998 with only two employees. The headcount reached 40 and the total investment now stands at 1.5 million euros”, said Ioan Stoian.
The private clinic reported a turnover of 700,000 euros and a profit of 155,000 euros, and for 2009, Ioan Stoian projects earnings higher than 1 million euros and a profit margin of around 20%. “Even under these recessionary conditions, and increase in loan interests, we have decided not to raise prices, but as of October a 10% increase would be imminent”, Stoian added.
The company prepares a brand development of Gynecoland across the country, as well as the opening of a hospital specialized in gynecology.
“Within two years, we will open the second Gynecoland clinic in Targoviste, for which the investment is expected to be around 1.3 million euros”.
Gynecoland Center was established in 1998 and is organized as a private hospital, specialized in gynecology and breast surgery.
