NBR posted an exchange rate of 4.2298 lei per euro in the previous session.

The leu floated within a small band on opening and then advanced from 4.2250 to 4.2225 per euro. At 1:05 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2220 lei and selling it for 4.2310 lei.

In the region, the zloty hiked from 4.1215 to 4.0975 over the European currency and then slipped to 4.1150, while the forint inched from 268.75 to 268.35 per euro and then came back to initial quotas.

For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s benchmark exchange rate dropped 0.08 percent to 2.9546 lei per dollar, from the previous 2.9571.
