The National bank of Romania settled a benchmark exchange rate of 4.2436 lei per euro, up 0.01 percent over yesterday, after the national currency followed an uptrend in the early trades, following the regional currencies, NewsIn informs.
The central bank posted an exchange rate of 4.2442 lei per euro in the previous session, the maximum level of the past seven weeks.
The single European currency was traded for 4.2450 – 4.2480 lei on opening and then slipped to 4.2420 – 4.2450. At 1:25 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2450 lei and selling it for 4.2480 lei.
In the region, the zloty waved near 4.1206 and 4.1274 per euro, while the forint fluctuated between 273.62 and 274.54 versus the European currency.
NBR’s exchange rate for the U.S. dollar rose 0.23 percent to 2.9741 lei per dollar, from 2.9673 yesterday.
