The benchmark exchange rate set by the National Bank of Romania edged up 0.09 percent to 4.2817 lei per euro, as the national currency lost ground in the early trades in line with the its peers in the region, NewsIn informs.
NRB reported yesterday an exchange rate of 4.2778 lei per euro, the lowest since October 9.
The single European currency was traded for 4.2750 lei at opening bell and then rose to 4.2840. At 1:20 p.m. banks were buying a euro with 4.2779 lei and selling it for 4.2869 lei.
In the region, the zloty fell from 4.1265 to 4.1550 versus the euro and then inched to 4.15, while the forint climbed from 267.46 to 268.95 per euro.
For the U.S. dollar, NBR’s exchange rate added 0.11 percent to 2.8780 lei per dollar, from 2.8749 in the previous session.
