Indices are adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality. In gross series, wholesale and retail trade turnover stood 27.5% below year-ago levels.
In October, the seasonally adjusted year-on-year decline stood at 31%.
Seasonally-adjusted turnover of ‘other services’ fell 19.1% from November 2008, due to the 57.4% decline in travel industry.
Compared to October, wholesale and retail trade turnover adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality fell 2.5% in November, while ‘other services’ decreased by 3.9%.
37.3% decline in Jan-Nov period
Wholesale and retail trade turnover adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality dropped 37.3% in the 11month period through November 2009, led by car sales that fell 45.2%.
In gross series, the turnover decreased by 38.4%.
As for services, the turnover adjusted by the number of working days and seasonality fell 14.4%.
Retail trade shrinks 30%
Wholesale and retail trade turnover fell 30.1% in November 2009 from a year earlier, largely weighed down by the 33.2% drop in car sales, official figures from the National Institute of Statistics show.
