Dacia is Europe’s leading car manufacturer by new car registrations in the first ten months, in a market that fell 5% to date. General Motors and Saab had the weakest performance in Jan-Oct period, with a decline of 64% and 59% respectively, according to data provided by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association.
Only ten car brands posted gains in the first ten months in terms of new-car registrations, while the remaining 25 suffered major declines.
Ford recorded 1.08 new car registrations in Jan-Oct period, 0.7% more than 1.07 million in the same period of last year.
Ford’s market share increased in European car industry to 8.9% from 8.4% in 2008.
In October, the new registrations of Ford cars increased by 15.2% to 108,879 units, from 94,493. The US-based automotive group grabbed a market share of 8.3% in October this year, versus 8.3% a year-ago period.
