The exchange price was 1.5049 lei/share and is the median between the minimum and the maximum value of daily trading quote of Banca Transilvania shares, a price calculated according to the daily volume of trades for the 90 days the Bucharest Stock Exchange was opened for trading, prior to the price-fixing date.

“Together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) the significant shareholder of BT with 15% equity, International Finance Corporation joins BT’s roster of strategic partners”, the bank said.

BT has been the recipient of six financing packages from International Finance Corporation for different purposes: for SME and housing finance, or subordinated and syndicated loans, and another €50 million for supporting the medical sector in Romania.

In 2009, IFC’s financing packages totaled $15 billion for developing countries.

Banca Transilvania is one of the leading banks in Romania by assets. European Bank for Reconstruction and Development holds 15%. BT is a financial institution with 500 outlets across the country.
