The net average income grew in April by 0.4 percent versus March, to 1,408 lei on Easter bonuses, on amounts from the net profit and on higher production, announced today the national statistics body (INS).
The salary also rose in March by 3.2 percent month-on-month, to 1,402 lei.
The highest incomes were reported in brokerage activities (4,116 lei on a 16.7 percent hike) and the lowest in the hotels and restaurant segment (765 lei). Significant rises were seen in the electricity, gas, water and air conditioning production and supply segment, of 16.6 percent and in the coal extraction activities, of 15.5 percent.
In some areas like education and public administration however, the net average salary dropped in April by 13.9 percent and 10.1 percent respectively.
The gross average salary was of 1,930 lei in April, 0.4 percent above the March level.
The annual growth rate cooled to 9.8 percent from 17.6 percent in the third month of the year and the purchasing power stood in April 28.1 percent above the October 1990 level, versus a 27.9 percent advance in March.
